Directions
Get Your Oven and Pans Ready to Bake
Get ready to bake! Preheat your oven to 375°F. For a hassle-free cleanup, line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
Mix the Sugar Cookie Dough
Combine the Classic Sugar Cookie mix, 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened, and 1 large egg, in a large mixing bowl. If using a stand or hand mixer, mix on low for 2-3 minutes until the ingredients are well combined.
Prepare the Decorations
Preparing cookie decorations in advance can make the decorating process smoother and more enjoyable. When you have everything ready to go, you’ll be able to focus on the fun part: creating each unique snowman!
Unwrap the mini peanut butter cups, sort the orange M&Ms or Reese’s Pieces into a small bowl, and place the candy eyes and mini chocolate chips in separate bowls as well.
If you have a shaker duster, dusting wand, or flour sifter, fill it with powdered sugar. If you don’t have one of these tools, you can dust the cookies by hand.Scoop Cookies and Bake
Take a cookie scoop or spoon and scoop 2 tablespoons of dough. Gently roll the dough into a ball and place each one about 2 ½ inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the cookies for 9-11 minutes.
Once the edges of the cookie have set, remove from the oven. Leave the cookies on the baking sheet for another 5 minutes, then move to a cooling rack or plate.Decorating Snowman Cookies
The best time to decorate is while the cookies are still warm.
Start by lightly dusting the cookies with powdered sugar to give them a snowy look. Then, take a mini peanut butter cup and gently press it, wide side down, near the top edge of the cookie to form the snowman’s hat.
Next, place two candy eyes just below the hat, pressing them lightly into the icing so they stay in place. Add an orange M&M or Reese's Piece as the nose, placing it just below the eyes. Finally, use mini chocolate chips to form a smile beneath the nose, arranging them in a curved line for a cheerful expression.
Now all that’s left is to enjoy each bite!
