Directions
Preheat and Prepare Cooking Sheets
Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lining your baking sheets with parchment paper.
Prepare the Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Combine 1 package Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix, 8 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter, and 1 large egg in a large mixing bowl. Using a stand or hand mixer, mix on medium for 2-3 minutes until fully incorporated.
Form the Cookies and Bake
Take 2 tablespoons of cookie dough and gently roll into a ball. Place each dough ball onto a baking sheet 2 ½ inches apart. Bake at 375°F for 9-11 minutes or until the edges of the cookies have set.
Before transferring to a wire rack, allow each batch of cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the sheet.Prepare the Cookie Frosting
In a separate bowl, combine 2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and slowly stir in 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth. If the frosting is too thick, add more milk, a small bit at a time, until you reach a spreadable consistency.
When you’ve achieved the appropriate consistency, add the food coloring - I’ve chosen to use orange, keeping with a Halloween theme! Combine until you’ve reached the perfect hue.Prepare the Cookie Decorations
Unwrap as many Hersey’s Kisses as needed - one for each cookie and organize the sprinkles.
Frost the Cookies and Decorate
Once the cookies have cooled completely, spread or pipe the frosting on the cookies. Take a Hershey’s Kiss and press it firmly into the frosting. Lightly dust with your chosen sprinkles.
