Ready to impress with minimal mess? Let’s preheat that oven to 375°F and get baking.
Ingredients
-
1 pkg My Better Batch Classic Sugar Cookie Mix
- 1 large egg
- 8 TBSP unsalted butter, softened
- 1 (8 oz bag) Heath Toffee Bits
- 3/4 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 2 TBSP Unsalted Butter, Melted
- 1 (11.5 oz bag) Milk Chocolate Chips
Directions
Start by preheating your oven to 375°F and line or grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or using a hand mixer, combine one box of My Better Batch Classic Sugar Cookie Mix, one large egg, and 8 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter.
Mix on medium-low speed for 2 to 3 minutes or until dough forms. If you don’t have a mixer, you can simply stir the ingredients together in a large bowl, then knead by hand until the dough comes together.
Once the dough is ready, press it evenly into the prepared baking dish, making sure it covers the entire surface. Bake for 21 to 23 minutes, or until the top of the cookie loses its shiny appearance and the edges are set.
While the cookie base is baking, prepare the creamy filling by stirring together ¾ cup of sweetened condensed milk and 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter in a small bowl until smooth.
When the cookie is finished baking and still hot from the oven, begin to build the cookie bars. It’s important to start this step immediately, while the cookie crust is still hot!
First, sprinkle ⅓ cup of Heath Toffee Bits evenly across the surface. Then, drizzle the sweetened condensed milk mixture over the toffee layer, using a spatula if needed to ensure even coverage.
Then, sprinkle the entire bag of milk chocolate chips on top and cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to allow the heat from the cookie base to melt the chocolate.
After 5 minutes, remove the foil and use a knife or spatula to gently spread the melted chocolate across the entire surface. Resist the urge to taste test - you’re not done yet!
Finish by sprinkling the remaining Heath Toffee Bits on top. Allow the dessert to cool completely to room temperature before slicing into bars. If you’re in a hurry, you can place the dish in the refrigerator to speed up the cooling process.

Twist It Your Way: Fun Variations to Try
One of the best things about this recipe (besides how ridiculously good it is)? It’s super easy to customize. Here are a few tasty ways to change things up, whether you’re working with what’s in your pantry or just feeling a little extra creative.
1. Go Dark (Chocolate, That Is)
Swap the milk chocolate chips for dark chocolate or semi-sweet chips if you prefer a richer, less sweet flavor. Bonus points if you sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top - chef’s kiss.
2. Nutty for Texture
Add a layer of chopped pecans, almonds, or walnuts before drizzling the creamy filling. It adds crunch and balances out the sweetness beautifully.
3. Pretzel Power
Crushed pretzels make a delicious salty-sweet twist. Sprinkle them on top of the melted chocolate before it sets for a fun crunch.
