Patriotic Mash-Up Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs My Better Batch Classic Sugar Cookie Mix

  • 2 Large Eggs

  • 16 TBSP Unsalted Butter, Softened

  • Red and Blue Food Coloring Gel
  • Sprinkles or Glitter Stars

Directions

  1. Let’s heat things up! Set your oven to 375°F. This is the perfect temperature for baking cookies. If you’d like clean up to be easy, line your cookie sheets with parchment paper!

  2. In a large mixing bowl, pour two packages of Classic Sugar Cookie Mix, two large eggs, and 16 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter. Mix on medium-low using a hand or stand mixer until all ingredients form a dough.

  3. Don’t have an electric mixer? That’s OK! You can hand-knead any of My Better Batch’s cookie mixes!

  4. Once the dough is prepared, divide it evenly into three bowls. In one bowl, add 3-4 drops of red gel food coloring. Mix the dough until the food coloring is evenly distributed, adding more until the desired hue has been achieved. Do the same with a second portion of dough, this time using the blue gel food coloring.

  5. Once you’re satisfied with the colors, take three small pieces from each bowl and roll them together to form a single cookie dough ball. Repeat this process, placing each new ball of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets, 2 ½ inches apart.

  6. Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges of the cookies have set.

  7. Remove from the oven and allow the freshly baked cookies to rest for 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack. In less than 20 minutes, you’ll have the perfect cookie for your next Fourth of July celebration!
