Grinch Sugar Cookie Recipe: A Treat to Make Your Heart Grow Three Sizes!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg My Better Batch Classic Sugar Cookie Mix

  • 1 large egg
  • 8 TBSP unsalted butter, softened
  • Green food coloring
  • Red heart sprinkles

Directions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F. To make cleaning up easier, line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.

  2. While the oven is preheating, combine 1 pkg Classic Sugar Cookie mix, 8 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter, 1 large egg, and a few drops of green food coloring.

  3. Use a stand or hand mixer on medium speed to combine the ingredients. If needed, add additional green food coloring until you achieve the perfect hue!

If you don’t have a mixer, you can mix the ingredients through hand kneading - however, wearing gloves is a good idea, otherwise you’ll end up with green stained fingers!

  4. Once fully mixed, it’s time to create the individual cookies. Take 2 tablespoons of cookie dough and gently roll into a ball. Place each ball of dough on the prepared cookie sheets, spacing them 2 ½ inches apart to allow for spread.

  5. Bake the cookies for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies have set.

Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before transferring to a cooling rack.

  6. While the cookies are still warm, take one heart shaped sprinkle and gently push it into the top of the cookie.
